Certification

The Certified Water Technologist (CWT) program represents the highest professional credential in the industrial and commercial water treatment field. It provides professional recognition for individuals involved in water treatment and technology to indicate to the general public, co-workers, employers and others that an individual has achieved a high level of experience, knowledge and education in the industry. The CWT designation assures that water professionals possess a core body of knowledge and have extensive professional experience in all aspects of water treatment.

The CWT designation is even recognized by the underwriters of WaterColor Management, who offer discounts on product liability insurance to companies with CWT's on staff. The discounts are offered because the CWT designation helps ensure that those in the field are competent and up-to-date on current practices.

The CWT exam is now in its third rendition. The new exam, which was created in 2009, reflects changes in the industry and includes revised calculations and questions.

The CWT exam is offered in paper and pencil format at the conclusion of each Technical Training Seminar. Computer-based remote testing is also available through Pearson Vue. Test centers are located throughout the country.
