This week, the Association of Water Technologies (AWT) is proud to join water professionals around the world in celebrating Industrial Water Week, October 5–9, 2026.
Industrial Water Week is a grassroots, open-source global celebration of industrial water treatment and, most importantly, the people who make the industry work. Throughout the week, water treatment professionals are encouraged to share their knowledge, celebrate their profession, and help others better understand the important work happening every day throughout our industry.
Five Days Celebrating Industrial Water Treatment
Each day of Industrial Water Week highlights a different part of the profession:
- Pretreatment Monday
- Boiler Tuesday
- Cooling Wednesday
- Wastewater Thursday
- Careers Friday
Together, these themes reflect both the breadth of industrial water treatment and the diverse expertise required of the professionals working within it.
AWT Award Winning Program
AWT has long appreciated the spirit behind Industrial Water Week. In 2025, AWT presented its Innovation Award to member James McDonald, PE, CWT for creating Industrial Water Week and the Detective H2O series. recognizing an innovative approach to education, engagement, and raising awareness of the industrial water treatment profession.
That same spirit continues in 2026. Throughout this year’s Industrial Water Week, new Detective H2O episodes will be released daily on the Scaling UP! H2O podcast, along with special guest voices from across the industry.
Join the Celebration
AWT encourages our members and the entire industrial water treatment community to participate throughout the week
- Share a photo from the field.
- Recognize a colleague or mentor.
- Talk about an interesting problem your team solved.
- Introduce someone to a career they may never have considered.
- Spend some extra time training a newer member of your team.
When sharing on social media, use #IndustrialWaterWeek and #IWW26 to join the broader industry conversation. Industrial Water Week may last five days, but the work it celebrates happens every day.
